Miribel is a junior at Marina High School in Huntington Beach, California. She is the founder/president of her school’s first science organization called Science National Honor Society, the first SNHS branch in Orange County. In addition, Miribel is the youngest research intern at UCI Neuropsychiatric Center who is also sponsored by the Southern California Academy of Sciences to conduct her own research project on cognitive performance of schizophrenic and bipolar disorder patients. She is a contributor and high school ambassador for HerCampus.com, the Jet Division Projects Chair for Cal-Nev-Ha KIWIN’S, and part of Senator Lou Correa’s United States ’13-’14 Youth Senate Program. Each year, she mentors freshmen during the summer at her high school and aspires to raise money this year to travel to unprivileged countries such as Vietnam to provide healthcare not readily accessible or affordable as in other countries. She aspires to earn a Gold Congressional Award.
