Beat the heat this summer while helping out around town! Even when it gets crazy hot outside, you can still make a difference. I have come up with 5 different ways you can still help out indoors when the heat is at its worst.
Serve breakfast at your local homeless shelter- go to your local homeless shelter and help serve food a couple times a week.
Neighborhood aid- Go door to door and ask elderly people if they need anything done indoors that they wouldn’t have time or be able to do.
Put fliers around town asking if anyone needs help painting inside their house.
Help out at your local food pantry- Help your local food pantry by organizing the canned food that others donate.
Partner with your local YMCA to host an end of the summer lock in and donate the proceeds to a charity of your choice. This is a great way for you and your friends to have a great time while helping your community. I have been to a few lock ins in my time and they are a blast!
These are just a few ways you can help out while also beating the heat this summer. No matter what time of the year it is there are always things you can do to help out your community, so get up and go help someone who needs it today!
