Are you passionate about volunteering? Do you love making videos? Then TeenageSurvival.com’s Vids4Kids Contest is right for you.
Enter a video up to 3 minutes long, with a team or by yourself, that pertains to the theme "Volunteering - Make a difference in your community". It’s important to note that videos cannot be related to a specific volunteering activity – entries must pertain to the topic of volunteering in general.
So what sorts of things should your video have in it? Maybe discuss what being active in the community can do for kids.
“Volunteering can help develop skills like organization, teamwork, and communication,” says Toni Ziganash of TeenageSurvival.com.
TeenageSurvival.com is about bridging the gap between childhood and adulthood. The goal of TeenageSurvival.com goal is “to help teens to acquire the skills they need to become contributing members of society”, and their video contest is a great way to get started.
In your video, talk about how easy it can be to find volunteer opportunities in your area, or how volunteering impacted your character. Topics are unlimited, and the prize is great: $2,500 for yourself or your team, and $2,500 for your school. In addition, VolunTEEN Nation.org, a Guest Sponsor of Vids4Kids, will provide members of the top 10 teams with neck wallets. Just by sharing why volunteering is important to you, you can help your school and earn a reward yourself!
Ziganash said that “every volunteer opportunity has its own rewards, whether it be meeting new people, developing social skills, confidence building, a feeling of accomplishment and pride, or simply work experience.”
It is vitally important for kids to get out in their communities and make a difference, and it is your job to persuade them! Find out more about this contest here!
